Active Travelers Still Buying Vacations!
Chicago’s Adventures in Travel Expo Draws Record Crowds Despite Stormy Weather and Economy
Here is some of the outstanding feedback we've received from exhibitors and attendees:
"As a tour operator, we were especially pleased with the turnout at the Chicago Adventures in Travel Expo. Despite challenging weather, the show was very well attended by members of the press, agent community and consumers of all ages and demographics. Our programs were enthusiastically attended and our booth staff was busy the entire show with travelers for 2009 and 2010 departures." -- Lisa Greyhill, Adventure Travelers Society "I've been at this show for five or six years and consumer interest in Tasmania was probably the strongest it has ever been." -- Karen Stolz, North American Representative, Tourism Tasmania "I've done a lot of trade shows, and this show is quality. People will stop and talk to you. It's not just a herd of cattle. They stop and they're interested in what you have to say. -- Marquette County
"You're not getting all the 'grab n' gos.' The people here are really quality. They come with questions, they know what they want and they're very interested in what we're offering." -- GAP Adventures
" The show has been wonderful. We made one reservation, and we got a lot of leads. We are offering a show special where they have to book by February 28, so we'll get a lot of reservations from that. Right now, we know of six or seven very good leads." -- Zara Tanzania
"It just exceeded my expectations. We've been very busy, and we look forward to closing sales this week. We're very happy we decided to exhibit." -- SafariLine
"It's been two days of greatness. We're just about out of brochures, and people aren't just taking them, they are really interested in them. They know our properties. The attendees are well educated and they continue to want to learn about the destinations and experiences." -- Florida Keys and Key West
"I was not just pleasantly surprised, but pleasantly shocked. We are in the face of the right kind of people. Normally I spend hundreds of dollars shipping back my printed materials. This is the first time I'm actually running out!" -- Palace Tours
"What a stellar event! I've never seen so many great travel exhibitors and fun activities in one place at one time. The seminars were the gem of the show though. The presentations were thoughtful, informative and exciting - I can't wait to get out and start exploring! I will be keeping my eyes open for your next expo - it was such a fun day! Thank you for bringing the world to Chicago!" -- A. Ford, Chicago Resident
