Bay Area Travel & Adventure Show Features Seminars by
Travel Experts Rick Steves and Patricia Schultz
Two-Day Show Brings in Hundreds of Vendors, Exciting Activities and Celebrity Appearances
(Santa Clara, Calif., January 25, 2012) – The Bay Area Travel & Adventure Show, coming to the Santa Clara Convention Center February 18-19, is bringing together the best of the travel industry to give visitors an inside perspective on planning their dream vacation.
Television star, author and travel guru Rick Steves will give informative seminars each day of the show, discussing practical, money-saving ins and outs of independent travel. Steves has produced over 50 guidebooks on European travel and hosts the most popular travel series in America on public television, as well as weekly hour-long national public radio show. He also pens a weekly column syndicated by the Chicago Tribune.
Also joining the featured speakers at the show is Patricia Schultz, bestselling author of the #1 New York Times bestseller 1,000 Places to See Before You Die series. As a veteran travel journalist, Schultz has over 25 years of experience and has written for guides such as Frommer’s and Berlitz. She also executive-produced a Travel Channel television show based on 1,000 Places to See Before You Die.
Celebrity travel expert and author Mark DeCarlo will be at the show and will host a special culinary competition on the Fiery Foods Stage. DeCarlo’s hit travel book, A Fork on the Road, covers his road trip through 400 cities and includes the 40 best recipes he found along the way.
On Saturday only, authors Lee Foster and Jules Older will present a one-time seminar “Apps and EBooks: The New Frontier of Travel Publishing”, which will focus on travel applications for smart phones as well as electronic books that are readily available at your fingertips. Both men are members of the Bay Area Travel Writers and together have travelled over to over 200 world destinations.
Plus, travel photographer Richard Velasco will hold a special seminar, “Putting the Travel in Travel Photography,” that is sure to leave guests eager to try their hand snapping some scenic shots.
In addition to the amazing lecturers, the Bay Area Travel & Adventure show also features a multitude of travel resources and information including over 150 destination experts, trip giveaways, hands-on adventure activities, a Global Beats dance stage, a Fiery Foods Challenge and more.
